Sometimes the lyrics to a song or the words in a poem hit home so hard that you can breathe. They can express what you're feeling so much better than you can on your own. (I'll admit I was [still am] a melodramatic kind of person sometimes) Music and bring you down, lift you up and help you through tough times.
I really like The Goo Goo Dolls. I don't know what it is. There is always a song to fit my mood. I was going through a time in my life that... wasn't the best. Their music stuck with me. They are still a go to band when I need a change in my mood.
The name of the song is "Hate this place" the lyrics are:
Gone away
Who knows where you been
But you take all your lies
And wish them all away
I somehow doubt
We'll ever be the same
There's too much poison
And confusion on your face
Can you feel it?
I didn't mean it
Can I see you?
What are we doin'?
I think I love you
But I ain't sayin'
Nothin' you don't know
Hold on dream away
You're my sweet charade
Take your time
Move yourself to me
Yeah, I can take your lies
Until you fall away
You know I'm lost
Hiding in your bed
No, I don't think it's wrong
It's just gone to my head
Can you feel it?
I didn't mean it
Can I see you?
What are we doin'?
I think I love you
But I ain't sayin'
Nothin' you don't know
Hold on dream away
You're my sweet charade
I held on to a Charade for far too long. Looking back, I'm glad I had my time in this "dream world". I'd never go back to THAT charade but I can look back with a smile.
So when Dedra asked what I wanted my blog name to be the first thing that came to mind was this song. Because life is a stage and we play our parts. I want to dream away in my sweet charade.
